1. What Purr is

Purr lets you find, describe, and share sightings of cats near you, and post about a cat you’ve lost. Much of what you see was written and photographed by other users, not by us. We don’t verify it before it’s published.

2. Who can use Purr

You must be able to form a binding agreement to use Purr — generally 13 or older, and old enough under the law where you live. Purr has no chat or direct messaging, and shared content carries no username, but a parent or guardian should still be comfortable with a minor sharing photos and location-based posts publicly.

3. Your account

Signing in uses Sign in with Apple. You’re responsible for activity under your sign-in and for keeping your device secure. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Me → Privacy → Delete My Account & Data.

4. Your content, and the license you grant us

Anything you post — descriptions, photos, spot notes, lost-cat posters — is your content. You keep ownership of it.

By choosing to share a pin or poster publicly, you grant Purr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content within the app so other users can see it, for as long as it remains published. We don’t sell your content, use it in advertising, or license it to third parties.

Only post content you have the right to post. Private pins are never published and aren’t covered by this license — they exist only on your own devices (and your own iCloud, if you sync).

5. Content standards

When sharing publicly, don’t post content that:

• Is false, defamatory, harassing, or intended to threaten or intimidate any person or animal;
• Contains someone else’s personal information posted without their consent — with the one exception you control yourself: your own contact info on your own lost-cat poster;
• Infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other rights;
• Is sexually explicit, hateful, or promotes violence against people or animals;
• Encourages trespassing, chasing, trapping, or harming a cat;
• Is spam, a scam, or unrelated to cats and the app’s purpose.

Every shared pin and poster has a Report option, and you can block another user’s content at any time. We may remove content or suspend an account that violates these standards, with or without notice.

6. Copyright & rights concerns

If you believe content on Purr infringes your copyright or other rights, contact support@hessamzahedi.com with a description of the content and where it appears, a description of the right you hold, and your contact information. We will review promptly and may remove or disable the content.

8. Community cats, and being a good neighbor

Cats you see through Purr may belong to someone, be part of a managed colony, or be a wild animal best left alone. Don’t chase, ask around before feeding, don’t enter private property, and leave collared or ear-tipped cats be. Purr is not veterinary or rescue advice. If a cat appears sick, injured, or in danger, contact a local rescue, shelter, or veterinarian directly.

9. Purchases

Purr is free. Optional tips are one-time, non-refundable purchases processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. Tips don’t unlock any feature.

10. Third-party services

Purr uses Apple Maps, WeatherKit, CloudKit, and Sign in with Apple, each governed by Apple’s own terms. We’re not responsible for the availability or accuracy of these services.

11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

Purr is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t guarantee that any cat pin is accurate, current, or that a lost cat will be found. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, and HessAmanda is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Purr. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose — for the overwhelming majority of users, zero. Nothing here limits liability where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold HessAmanda harmless from claims arising out of your content, your violation of these terms, or your interactions with other users or animals through the app.

13. Changes & termination

We may update these terms as Purr grows; material changes will be flagged in the app before they take effect. You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violating these terms, especially Section 5.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
