Privacy Policy

Ulysses & the Sirens is built to be private. We collect nothing. Your journal lives on your devices and in your private iCloud — we could not read your entries if we wanted to.

Information we collect

None. The app has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no servers of ours. The knots, sirens, ropes, thoughts, and braided cards you write are stored on your device using Apple’s on-device database.

iCloud sync

To sync your journal between your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro, the app stores your entries in your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) — the part of iCloud tied to your Apple Account and accessible only to you. iCloud is operated by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy; we never see or touch the data traveling through it.

Photos & documents

If you attach a photo or document to a thought, it is stored in the app’s local database and your private iCloud alongside your entries — never uploaded anywhere else, and never accessible to us.

Notifications

If you enable the evening reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device. It never leaves it.

Purchases

The app purchase and the optional “Patron of the Voyage” tips are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We receive no personal or payment information — only anonymous, aggregate sales figures.

Your data, your exit

• Export your entire journal any time from the in-app menu, as JSON or PDF.
• Delete everything by deleting entries in the app, or by removing the app and clearing its iCloud data (Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage).

Third parties

The app contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, and shares data with no one.

Children’s privacy

Because the app collects no data, it does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and revise the date above. Given that the app’s design makes data collection impossible, we don’t expect it to change in spirit.
