Two honest ways. ① Run /usage in Claude Code (or open claude.ai → Settings → Usage), copy the panel, and NowBat offers to apply it the moment you open the app — it reads the exact percentages and reset times. ② Tap Start when you send your first message and NowBat counts the 5 hours itself. On a Mac, the companion does all of this automatically. There is no Anthropic API for limits — any app claiming to read them live without one of these methods is guessing.

It reads Claude Code’s local transcript files (~/.claude) on your Mac, works out when your window started from your own message timestamps, estimates burn, and syncs it all to your iPhone and iPad through iCloud. Nothing leaves your machine except through your own iCloud account.

The Mac App Store version runs in Apple’s sandbox, so it needs one-time permission to read the .claude folder. The picker opens in the right place — just press Grant Access. If you ever move or recreate the folder, grant it again from Settings → Mac companion.

Same Apple Account: open Settings → Restore purchase on the other device. Family Sharing members can restore it the same way.

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → NowBat → Allow. Then in NowBat’s Settings, confirm Reset reminders is on. Focus modes can silence alerts — add NowBat to your allowed apps for that Focus.

iOS Settings → NowBat → Live Activities → on, and make sure a window is actually burning (it appears when a countdown is active and ends at reset).

That’s honesty, not a bug — the percentage is from your last paste or Mac sync. Open the app (or let the Mac companion refresh) to update it.
